About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Governance professional to lead the development and operationalization of enterprise AI governance frameworks. This individual will help ensure AI systems are deployed responsibly, securely, ethically, and in compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience working across cybersecurity, compliance, legal, risk, data governance, and AI/ML teams to establish policies, controls, and oversight mechanisms for generative AI and machine learning systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise AI governance programs and policies
- Establish AI risk management frameworks aligned to business and regulatory requirements
- Create governance standards for LLMs, generative AI, autonomous agents, and machine learning systems
- Conduct AI risk assessments, model reviews, and compliance evaluations
- Partner with cybersecurity, legal, compliance, privacy, and engineering teams
- Define controls around AI usage, third-party AI vendors, data handling, and model lifecycle management
- Monitor evolving regulations including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and emerging U.S. guidance
- Lead AI governance committees, reporting, and executive-level communication
- Develop processes for AI inventory management, documentation, and audit readiness
- Support responsible AI initiatives including fairness, transparency, explainability, and human oversight
- Assist with AI security and operational governance initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in governance, risk, compliance, cybersecurity, privacy, or AI governance
- Strong understanding of generative AI, LLMs, and enterprise AI adoption risks
- Experience implementing governance frameworks or regulatory programs
- Familiarity with:
- NIST AI RMF
- ISO 42001
- SOC 2
- GDPR
- EU AI Act
- Model Risk Management frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to translate complex AI risks into business and governance strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, insurance, or critical infrastructure
- Background in cybersecurity, AI security, or privacy engineering
- Familiarity with AI red teaming, AI assurance, or model validation
- Certifications such as:
- CISSP
- CISM
- CRISC
- IAPP certifications
- ISO 42001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
- Experience supporting AI audits or regulatory inquiries
